The Turning, 2022
48 x 36 in
Collage with acrylic, gouache, found paper, personal ephemera, gold dust
The Turning marks a point in time where self-reflection meets action. Combing through papers saved by my mother from my childhood, I was able to look at formative themes from this time in life and by conscious choice, chop them up and reassemble them in a way that makes sense to who I am today. Turning muddled memory into something beautiful, something with context in the modern moment. A time travel piece.
